Job Title: Contract Senior SAS Programmer
Job Location: Raleigh, NC Duration: 6+ months
Overview:
The Contract Senior SAS Programmer will perform a variety of project programming tasks including but not limited to the annotation of case report forms, the programming of computer generated tables and listings, the validation of programs that generate tables and listings and various other programming tasks. Principal responsibilities include programming computer generated statistical tables and listings using in-house macros and standard SAS reporting procedures and validating SAS code produced to generate statistical tables and listings. The Contract Senior SAS Programmer must design, program, quality control check and assist in the production of written specifications for statistical analysis files and review tables and listings, both from in-house production and from outside vendors. In addition, the Contract Senior SAS Programmer will integrate both central and local laboratory data into the clinical database and assist with the implementation of written specifications for the ISS/ISE database creation.
Responsibilities:
We seek a candidate with B.S. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics and 3 to 5 years of programming experience in a clinical trials environment. At least 1 year experience working for a pharmaceutical company, biotechnology company and/or a CRO preferred. Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills are essential. Broad experience using Base SAS. Familiarity with SAS/STAT, the SAS Macro language, SAS/GRAPH and the SAS Output Delivery System (ODS) required. Must have strong DATA step programming skills. Must be familiar all aspects of DATA step manipulation of data, creation of variables, text string manipulation and format libraries. Must also be familiar with PROC REPORT. Familiarity in the development and implementation of standard data structures (e.g., CDISC) and the handling of coding dictionaries (e.g., WHODRUG, COSTART, ICD-9, and MedDRA) preferred. Understanding of statistical concepts such as confidence intervals, p-values, survival analysis (e.g., Cox proportional hazards regression analysis) and nonparametric analysis and the ability to write clear efficient code for the purposes of data analysis and reporting a plus.
