| Job Description: | Software Engineer - Mid-Level - Temp Location: CO Broomfield GCS and Citizens only Provide integration with back-end applications; build, maintain and support software. Respond to bug reports, usability or interface issues; assist with administration tasks including software installation, software patches, security administration, data back-up, replication, and testing of high-availability and restoration capabilities. Skills equivalent to 3-5 years in comparable position. Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm Additional Job Details: Job title: System Integration and Test Engineer The responsibilities include creation of test plans, execution of plans, and system integration and installation of new software releases for test. Testing will be performed on both back end infrastructure systems as well as client set top boxes. Review design specifications, user stories, and ui design documents to develop integration and test suites for new services and products developed. Develop comprehensive end to end test suites to ensure that new services and products are adequately testing for integration and future deployments. Develop automated tests as member of an agile team. Incorporate developer-created automation tests into integration test suites. Demonstrate expertise in creating automated test scripts using Ruby or Java for execution by automated testing harnesses Execute test suites against services and products developed to ensure that they meet the highest quality standards and are stable for future planned deployments to subscribers. Provide succinct and accurate test results and enter bugs into our integrated bug tracking system. Develop operational support processes for new products and services tested. Evaluate services to identify operational, performance, and, feature enhancements. Configure, Maintain, and update Cable System infrastructure systems to include, the Conditional Access system, billing systems, business management systems, Advertising Insertion Devices, and video on demand servers. Work jointly with the ATG-W development and lab support teams to identify issues and to resolve issues. Extended and flexible work schedule is a requirement of the job. Provide Tier 3 Support for Services and Products as the need arises. Other tasks and duties as assigned, relating to system integration and testing of new services and products. Job Requirements: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with a concentration in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience of two to four years of cable services and products testing experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience using Java, JUnit, JavaScript and Ruby is a must. Ability to quickly learn DSLs and apply that knowledge to develop scripts using the DSL is a must. Knowledge and experience in Unix/Linux is a must. Demonstrated experience with dynamic languages Ruby, Groovy, Must have experience with the development of test procedures, test tools, and automated testing methodology. Knowledge and experience using scripting languages like perl, TCL/TK and unix shell scripts (sh, csh, tcsh, bash) is a must. Must have experience troubleshooting complex systems using test tools, network management systems and error reporting systems to determine and resolve problems. Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills is a must Excellent organizational skills is a must Experience Using and Understanding Digital Video Recordings, Electronic Program Guides is a plus. Experience working with Agile Development teams is a plus. In depth experience with a Cisco headend is a plus. In depth experience with a Motorola headend is a plus. Experience with cable system billing systems is a plus. Knowledge of basic cable system infrastructure architecture is a plus Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience. No Supervisory responsibilities with this position.
