Work Location: 4 Irving Pl Headquarters - 4 Irving Place,NY VB.Net with Oracle forms/reports This role is for a current client where they are looking for a mixed skill set. They want someone with oracle forms and report as this is what the current system is written in but then they want to build the new system in .net technologies so they want solid vb.net skills, SSIS/SSRS, etc. Job Description: Must possess in-depth skills in Oracle Forms/Reports, Oracle IDS, SQL, Pl/SQL, Stored Procedures, XML, and Oracle RDBMS 9i, 10G, 11I experience. Candidate must be skilled in MS DotNet Studio, VB.Net, SSIS, SSRS with at least 10 years of experience in VB.NET Must have excellent analytical, communications, and problem-solving skills Must be resourceful and enterprising in architecting efficient, cost-effective, and easy-to-use solutions to meet business user’s application needs Must be able to work independently on requirements gathering, scope, system design, development, testing, implementation, training and post-implementation technical support of the system/modules he or she is assigned Must be able to work independently for the most part, and occasionally in a team Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Multi-tasking and a hands-on approach to every task assigned are required skills Must demonstrate unshakeable integrity, good work ethics, responsibility, and personal accountability in everything they do while at Con Edison Will be required to travel to different Con Ed locations, primarily in Manhattan and sometimes to other boroughs Assignment: Candidate will perform development, enhancement and technical support functions for various Steam commodity applications: SOMIS (Steam Operations Mapping Information System), Job Tracking, MSO (Main Shut Off Generation), Inspection, Equipment, and Incident Tracking Systems. This system was developed using Oracle forms/reports with Oracle RDBMS in the back end. However this system will be replaced by a new work management system developed in dot net using Oracle as a backend in approximately 9 months. Candidate will then be responsible for enhancing and maintaining the new application: defining/analyzing business requirements and scoping out new enhancement modules, prepare all requirement documents and program specifications, and design and develop Interfaces, reports, screens, functionalities etc. Shankar Technology consultanst inc |
