Job description :
The Director, Warehouse Systems is accountable to business and technology management for end to end WMS, TMS, and other warehouse and transportation systems.
The ideal candidate will lead the development and implementation of strategic system initiatives to improve distribution and transportation accuracy and efficiency, reduce costs, increase fill-rate and customer satisfaction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner with the Operation, Procurement and Inventory Management teams to understand their technology requirements and recognize opportunities. Develop strategy with operation and sales leadership to leverage modern technologies to improve operation. Help business to develop process improvement initiatives and recommendations.
Responsible for gathering business requirements, developing holist strategy, scoping, planning, development, implementation, and post-implementation maintenance and support. Provide technology directions to ensure required level of functionality and performance expectations are met.
Take leadership in Distribution, Transportation, Digitizing and mobilizing delivery, and customer experience system innovation.
Constantly evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends and best practices that can be used to strengthen clients technology solutions.
Choose viable long-term best solutions to support company business development strategy and meet financial expectation.
Lead the current multiple systems, including and not limited to, Manhattan WMS, TMS, Scilog route optimization, Greenmile route visibility, Dematic Conveyer automation, SICK Scanner, legacy WMS system, etc.
Continual refinement and enhancement, new functionality development, and day-to-day system support.
Advise enforcement of the development and architectural standards to ensure that advanced technology is leveraged.
Manage the software vendor relationship and software quality.
Manage software sprints, releases, and bug fixes. Develop and manage requirements specifications and functional design for change requests.
Work with the software vendors to ensure that requirements documentation can be easily translated into development and test plans, and oversee completion.
Negotiate Statement of Work. Ensure user acceptance test and user training. Manage the schedule, activities and deliverables within the tech team while resolving issues and establishing appropriate priorities.
Lead the IT Supply Chain development team, provide strategic and tactic direction, push the use of trending technologies, establish and champion best practices, provide hands-on guidance, set development standards, conduct code reviews, and manage project schedules.
Build and develop the teams skills through coaching, motivating and training top talent. Mentor and manage developers in the normal execution of their responsibilities. Ensure the team is successfully executing projects to specification and within scheduled timelines and budget parameters.
This position is also responsible for managing the supply chain system risks and business continuity, improving reliability, ensuring compliance with policy and audit requirements.
A Bachelors or higher Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related
At least 10+ years hands-on end to end development life cycle experience with primary focus on supply chain systems such as WMS and TMS, including design, development, and support.
At least 5+ years hands-on Manhattan WMS and TMS implementation and support experience
Oracle EBS integration is a plus
Expert understanding of WMS, TMS and other Supply Chain technology
Strong dedication, innovation and drive for excellence. Strong project management and team management skills.
Strong ability to lead and inspire diverse groups of engineers to accomplish complex projects. Capable of delegating, motivating, and supporting resources to achieve high delivery demands.
Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
Collaborates well with internal and external resources, ability to work directly with end users and consultants.
Must be able to handle many responsibilities at once with priorities.
Must be able to ensure consistent performance without supervision.
Excellent written, oral, and listening communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and proven skills in communicating complex technical information to all audiences.
Professional behavior and characteristics are critical. Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends as needed.
